A Sales Site for Net-income

Net income is a reality in the lives of hundreds of thousands of net-prenuers, and you can be the next.

Four types of sites bring in income to the average net-prenuer: Content Sites, Sales Sites, Advise Sites, Review Sites. Of these, we will discuss the setting up, merits, and difficulties of  Sales Site in this article.

A Sales Website, portal, or blog is basically a net-shop that you set up for selling anything from books up to electronic gadgets. Ebay is a good example of a massive worldwide sales portal, but one need not start so big for success. You can star with a simple book and accessories shop and grow from there.

Numerous companies on the net allow you to start a net-shop. All what you need is a membership. Once you log in, they will provide the software to set up the shop. Alternately, if you are good with websites or blogs, you can take membership of a number of such agencies, and insert their code on to your website or blog and the shop will be there.

One of the safest method would be to create a shop using Amazon.com membership. Amazon is the largest net-based book distributor. Once you become a member, you can use many types of codes to set up your shop. My pet book shop would be a book-review site on a given range of subjects (history, archeology, music, creative writing, etc) which can then be promoted as a niche website on search engines. Once people come to your site for reading the review, many of them will become interested in the Amazon book advertisements that you display on your site through your code.

Advantage: a sales site always brings in more money than other kinds of sites because what you get is a commission on the sales price. This will always be more than click-through income of the advertisement sites. What is more, the processing of money, inventory, dispatch, refunds, and other claims are always handled by the parent company, leaving you totally free to spend time in promoting your shop.

Difficulties: compared to content-based sites, where you get money right from the start through ad-clicks, sales sites take a bit of time to bring in income. You need to promote your site, become established as a niche player, build up trust, and attract plenty of customers before you start getting income. Thus you need to wait for some time before you can expect to earn, but once you start earning, the take-home amount would be more than what people get from ad-clicks on content sites.

Precautions: Do not try to establish a super-market to sell everything in the world. You would find it impossible to get high rating for such website on search engines, and without that your site is useless. On the contrary, establish a niche-market that caters to a specialized audience or need. For example, you might want to establish a website dedicated to freelance writers. There you can sell books, guides, courses, writers supplies, and other things that a writer needs. If you are able to offer a comprehensive range targeted at writers, and if you promote the site among freelancers, you will find the flow of traffic, and the resultant sales, building up quickly.

Preparation: I strongly urge you to visit a number of sale-sites, starting with mega sites like Amazon and Ebay. Then visit sales sites in those niche areas where you feel you can start one or more shops. Study all of them. Take a bit of time. Better be late than be sorry.

Once all this is done, launch the shop, promote it regularly, and maintain it regularly. Believe in yourself. The Income will start coming in sooner than you expected.
